Recycling / Solid Waste Office
Mission Statement - The Recycling/Solid Waste office is responsible for facilitating Elk County's drop-off recycling program. It is a program that not only includes traditional recyclable materials, but also used oil, tires, white goods, household hazardous waste and electronics. The office is also responsible for enforcing the county's solid waste ordinance.
THE ELK COUNTY COMMUNITY RECYCLING CENTER WILL REOPEN ON MONDAY, JUNE 8, 2020.
Due to the COVID19 Pandemic, all staff and volunteers will be required to wear masks.
All visitors must wear a mask if they exit their vehicle to unload recyclables when utilizing the drive-thru.
A mask will not be required if they remain in their vehicle and allow us to unload the recycling.
Also, electronics will be limited to 5 items per visit for the first several weeks.
We have been closed for close to 3 months and realize that many customers have electronics to recycle.
Please be patient as we get through the initial rush of reopening.
