Electronics Recycling
The Electronics Recycling program began in June 2004 and since that time we have recycled in excess of a million pounds of electronics. An astounding feat, considering our county is so rural.
The center is located at 87 Central Street in the Stackpole Complex in St. Marys and is open the third Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. For anyone who hasn’t been there, entrance to the Stackpole Complex is across from DeLullo’s Market. We also place signs within the complex during the day of the collection. Our office works with businesses directly to set up drop-off times most convenient to them. Please call the office.
The program has operated as a “free” service for residents since its inception. Businesses are charged per pound. As with all our programs, we also accept donations to help cover our costs.
We were one of the first counties in Pennsylvania to offer an ongoing collection of electronics components, and our program covers a wide variety of items, the majority of which are listed here.
We do NOT accept:
coffee pots, toaster ovens, toasters, irons, hair dryers and vacuum cleaners.
Additionally, dehumidifiers and air conditioners are white goods and recycled through the white goods program.
