White Goods Recycling

For well over a decade, residents of Elk County have been able to recycle their old refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers free of charge. The solid waste authority put a program in place whereby the recycling office pays for removal of the refrigerant from these items for Elk County residents.  Currently there are two drop-off sites partnering with us for the recycling of refrigerant-containing white goods.

In Kersey, Reed’s Recycling provides this service. Reed’s Recycling (885-6320) is located along state Route 948, Fairview Road, across from the park in Kersey. There is also a drop-off at Veolia Greentree Landfill, 635 Toby Road, Kersey (800-257-5705). Residents will be asked to provide name and address.
