Partners: Elk Regional, Elk County Sheriff's Office, St. Marys City Police, Elk County Commissioners, Elk County Solid Waste Auth., and D.E.P.

     We are proud to announce taking part in the first pilot program in the state.  The best way to keep pharmaceutical chemicals out of our lakes & streams is to take your unwanted medications to our new collection sites. 

     Don't flush your medications down the toilet or empty them down the drain.  This can lead to water contamination and is affecting fish, frogs and drinking water supplies.

   Clean out your medicine cabinets and ensure safe disposal.  Accepted items:                          

            Prescription medications, controlled substances, over-the counter medicines, vitamins,   supplements, veterinary medications, inhalers and Epi-pens.

    Guidelines: Keep in all original containers, leave on label, black out  personal information
