Clerk of the Orphans' Court

The Clerk of the Orphans' Court is responsible for performing the administrative record keeping for the miscellaneous division of the Common Pleas Court.  As such, the Clerk is responsible for the accuracy and complete maintenance of case files for accounts (estate trust, guardians) adoptions, appeals, and claims against estates, guardianships, minors' estates, small estate proceedings, trusts, wrongful death actions, as well as sundry other miscellaneous filings. 

The Clerk of Orphans' Court is also responsible for taking marriage applications and issuing license for couples that wish to be married in Pennsylvania. 

Marriage records from October 1885 to present are available for viewing along the Birth and Death Records from 1893 to 1906 are available from the Orphans' Court division.
